Lake Constance & Flower Island of Mainau
8 days / 7 nights
After arrival in Zurich enjoy a brief guided tour of the largest and prettiest city of Switzerland followed by a scenic transfer to your hotel. Dinner and overnight in the Black Forest.
Depart for Titisee, a lake with crystalline waters and a charming village, famous for its cuckoo clocks. Experience a relaxing boat trip on the lake. We continue our journey via Triberg to discover the highest waterfalls in Germany – formed by several cascades. Dinner and overnight in the Black Forest.
Morning departure to Mainau, Germany’s Flower Island in Lake Constance. The Flower Island of Mainau may only cover 45 hectares of land, but it is home to an extraordinary diversity of trees, flowers and shrubs. Its other attractions include a 13th century baroque palace, a palm house and the biggest butterfly house in Germany. Dinner and overnight in Feldkirch area.
After breakfast come with us on a foray through Bregenz, a gem between mountains and the lake. The small city at the border triangle right beside Lake Constance has a lot to offer – and not just in terms of landscape. It amazes with contemporary architecture, diverse cultural and gastronomical opportunities, a beautiful old town and of course, the world-famous Bregenz Festival. In the afternoon we are going on a boat trip on Lake Constance, a highlight and a great way to “explore” Germany, Austria, and Switzerland at once. Dinner and overnight in Feldkirch area.
Departure for Switzerland. Stop in Rhein, situated where Lake Constance narrows into the Rhine. This little town is known for its picturesque old town that exhibits magnificent half-timbered houses with painted facades. Continue to the Rhine Falls, Europe’s largest and most fascinating waterfalls. See Schaffhausen dominated by the imposing Fortress of Munot. Dinner and overnight in Feldkirch area.
Day off. Dinner and overnight in Feldkirch area.
Scenic drive to the principality of Liechtenstein, the sixth smallest country in the world. Drive further to Lucerne. The best way to explore Lucerne is to take a foot tour through the landmarks of the medieval city. It is home to the world’s historical heritage and outstanding architecture in every corner. See the Chapel Bridge, the Water Tower, Lucerne’s well-preserved roads in the Old Town and the the figurative Dying Lion. Remainder of the day is free. Dinner and overnight in Lucerne area.
