This morning enjoy a city tour with a local guide who will take you around to see the the most remarkable sights there are to visit in Cagliari. You willl get the chance to see the old city walls and towers driving around Castello, rather than through it. You will see the Roman Amphitheatre and the beautiful views of the Gulf of the Angels. The tour even takes you as far as Poetto Beach. The afternoon is at leisure. Overnight in Cagliari.

Enjoy a guided tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Su Naraxi di Barumini. The defensive structures date to 2000 BC and consist of circular towers of truncated cones built of stone. Continue to one of Sardinia‘s most reknown wineries for a cellar tour, tasting and light lunch before arriving in Alghero. Dinner and overnight in Alghero.

Enjoy a morning group boat tour to Neptune’s Grotto. Afterwards you will enjoy a private guided tour of the medieval fortified town of Alghero. Known as ‘Little Barcelona’ for its Catalan influence, the town boasts a striking Gothic-style historic centre with the Church of St. Francis and Santa Maria Cathedral. Dinner and overnight in Alghero.

Morning at leisure. In the afternoon we are heading to Codrongianos and stop to visit the Basilica of Saccargia, the most spectacular church in Sardinia, built by the pisans in the 12th centrury a,c. We drive north and reach Castelsardo, afternoon visit of this beautiful historical town straight by the sea. Explore the historic centre with the cathedral and the fortifications. Finally we reach the region of Costa Smeralda. Dinner and overnight in Olbia.

Breakfast at the hotel. After check-out move to Santa Teresa di Gallura to take the ferry boat reaching Corsica. Guided visit of Bonifacio. Upon arrival free time in Bonifacio to have lunch. In the afternoon leave the city for Ajaccio. Dinner and overnight in Ajaccio.

Today we enjoy an insightful guided tour of the town of Ajaccio, the island’s largest city and the birthplace and home of Napoleon Bonaparte. Discover its 15th-century citadel, cafés, restaurants and many monuments to the Little Emperor on a half-day guided tour, then continue exploring or return to your hotel to relax. An evening of guitar music and Corsican songs accompanies our dinner this evening. Overnight in Ajaccio.

Todays excursion takes us further up Corsica‘s west coast to Scandola Nature Reserve and the twisting inlets and outcrops of the Calanques de Piana. Here the elements have shaped and shifted the pink granite landscape into forms that seem almost alive. We will follow the road past Piana‘s pastel houses to Porto‘s harbour and pebble beach, and you will have time to explore. Optional: Cruise along the coast for the very best views. Dinner and overnight in Ajaccio.

After breakfast we drive north-east of Ajaccio in direction of Corte. Corte was once the capital of Corsica, during the reign of the much fabled Pasquale Paoli. We have included entrance to Corte’s historical museum and ramparts. From there you will have access to the picturesque old fortification standing high on a rocky outcrop. Driver further to delightful Calvi set on a crescent shaped bay. The pedestrian streets full of shops, boutiques and cafés run parallel to the marina and Quai Landry esplanade which is lined with restaurants. At the end on the rocky promontory above is the medieval fortified citadel. Overnight in Calvi.

Your morning is at leisure. In the afternoon we take a terrific cruise along the coast to see the fabulous cliffs and calanques of the UNESCO World Heritage in the Gulf of Girolata. Late in the afternoon the gigantic rocky outcrops, which emerge from the deep blue water, catch the setting sun. This evening we will enjoy a farewell dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight in Calvi.

Morning transfer to Bastia for return flight.
